ALL ABOUT HILLGROVE

BABYDOLL SHEEP

What We Do Here at Hillgrove

We started breeding Babydolls in 2015, purchasing three ewes and one ram from the historic Babydoll Southdown stud, Hillgrove, at Greenhill, Victoria, Australia. Hillgrove was established in 1921.

Our property, "Gully Green" is situated just outside Moama, on the Murray River in NSW. We farm Dorper sheep alongside our cropping program and we were attracted to Babydolls because being small, they are easy to handle and have a very placid temperament. Our farm is set-up for sheep and we have the knowledge and capabilities to breed Babydolls successfully.

In December 2018 we were offered and agreed to purchase the historic Hillgrove Original Southdown Stud from Murray and Judy Peart. In February 2019 we received permission from the Australian Stud Sheep Breeders Association (ASSBA) to use the name "Hillgrove" as our stud prefix and consequently we no longer use our former prefix "Gully Green."

We are one of the biggest and definitely the oldest, Babydoll sheep stud in Australia.

We are very proud of our Babydolls.
